There are more than 900,000 law enforcement officials keeping neighbors and communities safe every day across the country. Many of these law enforcement agencies use Nextdoor, the neighborhood social network used by over 1,500 law enforcement agencies and 175,000 neighborhoods, to connect with neighbors on a deeper level to engage the community, get to know residents and keep the places they call home safe. In honor of these individuals, for the first time Nextdoor has put together a list of the 35 most appreciated and engaging law enforcement officials - and one of the winners is right here in Madison County, Alabama.
Madison County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Donny Shaw is receiving national recognition as one of Nextdoor’s 2018 Neighborhood Champions for his superb use of Nextdoor to better serve his community. Shaw won this recognition based on the tremendous amount of appreciation (‘Thanks’ and replies) he has received from neighbors in response to his Nextdoor posts. Nextdoor will be officially honoring Shaw the week of July 23rd, as the finale to its summer safety campaign.
